MESA, Ariz. — During the coronavirus pandemic, many people are finding ways to stay inspired and hopeful.
Two sisters from Mesa transformed their neighborhood into a breathtaking canvas.
Amid the stay-at-365彩票 order, sisters KaBrina and KaTasha Kringen had an idea to shed light during what can feel like dark times.
"Sitting inside seeing our kids in the neighborhood drawing on their driveways and in the street, it’s so inspiring to see the love that they’re spreading so we went out and bought some chalk,” KaTasha Kringen said.
One by one, kids from around the neighborhood began to follow their lead, until the entire street was covered.
"The day before, I was on Instagram and heard Thomas Rhett's new song, 'Be a Light,' and I know right away that was a perfect son to put to that video," KaBrina Kringen said.
The video took off on social media, and people in the neighborhood love it because it gives kids a break from their new normal.
"It’s been really stressful, but coming out and drawing in the streets has helped and made us feel better and come together as a community, it helps everybody," neighbor Rachell Hanchett said.
The Kringen sisters say that every stroke of chalk is a chance to share a message of hope and love.
"We can all do this together, we will get through it," KaTasha Kringen said. "Wave to a neighbor, put a heart on the sidewalk, smile, be nice."
